Architect Edition Video Demonstration
Andy Grove, Chief Technology Officer, has prepared a
video
demonstration of how to customize the code
generation templates supplied with the Architect
Edition and then how to integrate the customized
templates with the FireStorm/DAO Studio
environment.
FireStorm/DAO Architect Edition includes the source
code for the each of the DAO templates (JDBC, EJB
CMP, Hibernate, and JDO). This allows FireStorm/DAO
to be customized, for example, to provide custom
auditing or security.
The video presentation is available for download on
the
Architect Edition Overview page.
Technical details and sample code are available on
the
Architect Edition Technical
Specifications page.

| CodeFutures Blog: Data Persistence Technologies |
| |
CodeFutures is often asked which data persistence
techology should be used in a specific project.
The simple answer is: there is no perfect data
persistence technology.
The choice depends on the project requirements, the
skills of the development team, and if an organization
has standardized on a specific data persistence
strategy.
CodeFutures supports JDO, EJB CMP, JDBC DAOs, and
is field testing Hibernate. So we're in a position to
give neutral advice the different technologies.

"Before we discovered FireStorm/DAO, we were reluctant to write DAO code ourselves as it required a lot of time and effort. Now we can concentrate on the real business logic and application requirements." Kobus Steenekamp, Senior Java Developer, Discovery Health
