Greetings!

CodeFutures has been very busy, as usual. There's a new release available for download. FireStorm/DAO has been nominated for several awards. We've announced our Q4 and 2004 annual results, with many new reference customers.

In addition to providing access to RC1 for Release 2.4, CodeFutures is currently offering customers a preview of some upcoming features such Hibernate support. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in taking a look.

This newsletter provides you with some of the highlights.

  • Firestorm/DAO Release 2.4 RC1
    • Stored Procedure Support
In addition to exposing tables, views, and custom SQL statements as Data Access Objects, FireStorm/DAO 2.4 now exposes Stored Procedures as Data Access Objects, unlocking legacy business logic stored in databases. Initially available for Sybase, Oracle, and SQL Server.
    • Continued Usability Enhancements
FireStorm/DAO 2.4 now contains much improved wizards for reverse-engineering databases and for generating code, making it even easier to use.
    • New XML Parser
FireStorm/DAO 2.4 now uses an industry standard XML parser to read/write project files in place of a proprietary XML parser used in previous releases. This is in response to demand from CodeFutures' OEM customers.
    • Improved Sybase Support
FireStorm/DAO 2.4 now supports reverse-engineering of Sybase ASE databases.
    • Plain JSP Support
In addition to generating Struts Web applications, FireStorm/DAO 2.4 now offers the choice of generating simple JSP pages.
