What is the typical ratio of Architect Edition users to Enterprise Edition users?
Every development team is different. However, CodeFutures can offer some general guidelines based on experience:
- If you're working in large teams, only senior developers should be given Architect Edition licenses. This is partly to ensure that the benefits of standardization and consistency are achieved by giving a small group control over how Java persistence is implemented by all developers.
- CodeFutures has packaged team licenses with 5 or 10 Enterprise Edition licenses for each Architect Edition license, which is the typical ratio in large enterprises.
- Smaller development teams and small IT consultancies seem to have a higher ratio of senior developers with the skills required to use the Architect Edition.
